Keith has dedicated his career to healthcare industry risk management. His 29 years of risk management and insurance industry experience include employment as a Director of Risk Management for an integrated delivery system including a physician group, 11 hospitals, 4 nursing homes and a managed care entity. Keith also served as an assistant administrator for a 290-bed long term care facility leading the development of clinical risk management efforts and a development of a captive insurance carrier to manage the organization’s worker’s compensation exposure.
Keith joined the insurance brokerage industry over 20 years ago and has served many healthcare clients designing insurance programs, establishing captive insurance carriers and risk retention groups along with providing risk management and claims management support. For the last 21 years, Keith has led the healthcare practice and Senior Care practice for major insurance brokerages.
As President of AB Risk Specialist, Inc., Keith leads an organization that specializes in developing innovative medical professional liability, management liability and medical provider stop loss insurance solutions for health care organizations. Working with underwriters worldwide, Keith’s firm serves the insurance needs of hospitals, physician groups, home health providers, long term care providers, assisted living providers and many other health care providers.
Keith attended the University of Southern Mississippi achieving an undergraduate degree in business with graduate level work on his MBA at the University of Houston. He completed a Healthcare Administration Certificate Program with Trinity University. Additionally, Keith has earned the insurance industry designations of CPCU (Chartered Property/Casualty Underwriter), ARM (Associate in Risk Management) and ALCM (Associate in Loss Control Management).
